Stalking on their long legs high above the grass and undergrowth of the forest, the Bird Riders of the Empire are amazingly versatile cavalry:  They are good scouts, able to spot foes from their elevated mounts and quickly retreat if they encounter more dangerous enemies. But they also pack a punch when they choose to charge, piercing through enemy lines with their lances and sharp beaks and claws.

Their only weakness is the vulnerability of their bird mounts, but these riders - contrary to other heavier units - chose speed and agility over protection...
